I use the obsidian web clipper plug-in to read paywalled content in my vault. Or, there’s one specifically built for saving recipes and it works great.
Those look really cool, I would be pleasantly surprised if they ever came to fruition

I didn’t know it existed till making this post, as someone that’s new those are just the only two I hear about.
I’ll be honest I didn’t even know cinnamon and plasma were different things till making this post, they look and feel so similar from the little bit I’ve used them.
I did not know that I could install more then one and pick that easy, that’s really good to know. I figured if I installed more than one there’d be conflicts or something but that’s really nice I’ll have to do some experimenting. Thanks for mentioning that!
Linux Mint is what I was mainly looking at for daily driving, and then bazzite for a gaming setup of sorts.
yeah i know but as an entry level user it just seems like they’re the two most popular and they must be for a reason, I’m sure I’ll explore more in the future
What exactly is the 321 rule?
My answer was from @EmoPolarbear@lemmy.ca, who said pointig two different services that can provide digital files to the same folder is never a good idea. Even though I turned off OneDrive which I thought would avoid anything going wrong, it was still pretty bad, so just don’t do it in the first place. Probably read their whole comment though to make sure you understand fully

Yep I sure did the thing you said not to do. I’m very new to a lot of this stuff still learning, I didn’t think about it and thought it would just work in was able to recover all my files and everything is fine so I’m not worried about it anymore and I understand the issue now. So this has just been a learning experience, I’m moving on with the second message you suggested and just making a new folder and copying stuff over. Thanks for the input man
I’ve heard a lot of good things about bigwig, but I had no idea it was made by ex Ableton devs. That’s super cool, I’ll have to check it out. Thanks for the suggestion.
I really don’t have anything specific in mind, but a media server is definitely something that’s been on my list of things I’d like.
As for the ram, it kind of is an absurd amount. I think it only started with 8 gigs (maybe 16), but since it was just my family computer growing up it would get continually more and more bloated and slow, upgrading the ram was the only way my dad knew how to upgrade it so he’d do it every now and then to try and speed it up lol.
