It’s just an idea! Geez!

Thanks its super unique LOL.

Its just an idea…
When my router says “threat” and gives me an IP address, this address gets added to a big ass database that all routers see. Then every router in the world blocks their ass out…get them to go to a government office and ID themselves as an adult if they want back in.

Hey everyone! I think I got a cool idea for a dashboard!

Sounds like bullshit I will not tolerate.
So I created a service and a timer. the service is supposed to kill the mouse:
mouse-refresh.service
[Unit]
Description=Refresh Logitech mouse event2
[Service] Type=oneshot ExecStart=/bin/bash -c ‘udevadm trigger --sysname-match=event2 --action=change’
the timer trigers it every 5 minutes
[Unit] Description=Refresh mouse every 5 minutes on desktop Requires=graphical-session.target
[Timer] OnUnitActiveSec=5m Persistent=true
[Install] WantedBy=graphical-session.target
but then I realized that it doesn’t work. sudo udevadm trigger --sysname-match=event2 --action=change doesn’t do it but sudo udevadm trigger seems to work. however I have stuff on the USB system that I don’t want to be resetting every 5 minutes.
I also added the thing to the grub startup: sudo nano /etc/default/grub GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=“quiet splash threadirqs usbcore.autosuspend=-1”
it doesn’t seem to do the job. only ctrl-alt F3 then ctrl-alt F2 does it. frustrated but continuing with sudo udevadm trigger for now
I did this. It does work but when I restart I get the darn problem again.
Its a weird problem. But I think it’s not just the mouse. It could be other stuff USB. You could be right. I will check with Windows 10 (garbage on a second boot drive)

My biggest complaint about calibre-web is that you can’t search for text inside the books you’ve got. It has to be a surprise! LOL.
Its both the front and back of the computer.
Yes. It will work each time I plug it on a different port until a few minutes later.

We in engineering are allowed to use whatever the heck we want so long as IT agrees that it is useful and safe and costs less than other options.
So we run a bunch of open source stuff. But the biggest one is Python. We connect arduinos and rpies to run complex machines. Meanwhile CAD runs on windows unfortunately along with all the bullshit spreadsheet, word and PowerPoint.
Linux is awesome and I see Windows day’s numbered. So long piece of shit obsolescence software! One day you will be no more.
Windows 98 ate my college photos and music when a virus made my HDD take a click of death dump.
Fuck you to whoever wrote that virus. Since then I gave various linuses a go and I did so for a while each just learning how to be as lazy as possible while using linux. Later I had to run windows for some cad software. But after it corrupted my Linux several times I gave it the boot into its own drive which is only startable using grub. Grub sits on the Linux drive. My home drive is a big ass Linux formatted drive that mounts into Home/username. That way even if my Linux takes a shit I can reinstall it and boom back to where I left off…solo much further than anything windows could ever imagine. I could even have several linuses all going to the same home folder without any problem.
Thanks. That was my morning rant because it was sort of raining.
No worries. I am taking notes on all that is said. I should probably work with my brothers in law to back up their stuff here so they can let me backup my stuff there. That way if my house goes up in flames I can drive there and get me a copy. Lots of good ideas being posted.
Darn! I’m North of Seattle. No hurricanes here, just slow annoying rain. Think of rain, but then imagine it only stops a couple of days of the week. Keep imagining rain, remove the Forest and the frogs and the birds. I would add rabbit squirrel, coyote, and the occasional bear or reindeer… All of them making wet sounds. Moss and algae and mycelium covering everything. Then imagine a shower with a misting effect but for every million droplets remove all but 1 droplet. That’s our rain. Everything is fucking wet all the time but just not enough to wash things clean or sometimes even to keep trees happy. Imagine having to water your plants because the daily rain wasn’t wet enough. You know when you have a sink full of dishes so you fill it with water, but then you get a call about a relative in the hospital so you leave for a month and comeback to the dishes but now all of them have these water evaporation and dry sludge lines? Yup that’s outside. I feel for the homeless here.
This is interesting. Just recently two of my few YouTube personalities passed away. A co worker too. My co-worker definetly had no plan and his family was left high and dry. We had Robert Murray Smith who was broken when his wife passed and he used science to go follow her. His brother quickly left his followers a message. Finally a photographer who did darkroom demos and such also died. His channel says nothing about it. So YouTube is probably making money off dead people. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mElL9M5GhG4 Bill Schwab
Excellent! A dashboard dashboard!
