Home assistant has their own system I believe? If you sign up too their subscription? Or you can locally host whisper and piper yourself and go completely local.

But everything around it, like X, could be made easier with your software.

I keep meaning to try this out for a family members twitch presence. In the meantime take a star. It looks great!

You are probably better off using something like Tailscale. You don’t need to expose your system with a reverse proxy then.

What waste industrial grade SD cards? I have moved to a non-pi server die to constant SD card deaths. If I can get a stable SD card I might set up a pi hole again.

Do you research of raspberry pis, they are really great. You do need to be careful though, sdcards die comparatively fast, and you don’t want anything important to be on it when it does. Or at least backed up (Borg is cool).

That’s always a danger.

You could host the server on its own vlan and use tailscale to tunnel from a VPS to your server. This way your IP isn’t exposed to the public. You can also add crowdsec or similar on the VPS.

I do the same thing with traefik on my dirt cheap VPS.

You could try wormhole. It makes a direct connection.
