In where I live; no one cares for personal piracy. There have been local tracker owners busted; but the law enforcement did not go after each member individually; even though they could’ve according to law.

Legal ramifications? Highly unlikely; unless you’re explaining how to break copy prevention methods. That’s considered illegal in a lot of countries afaik.

As for lines you should not cross; I see ethics as more of a concern than anything. If you’re trying to learn how to use some software feel free to pirate it; but if you go into the level where you make a significant income out of it; you really should pay for it.

Plasma is currently the name of the Desktop Environment made by KDE.

KDE refers to the umbrella project that houses all the software made for Plasma, like KDE Connect and Kdenlive. The name used to refer to the desktop environment; but now they develop more stuff than the desktop environment.

Pop OS currently is keeping the next version update on alpha as they’re developing their own compositor display stack called COSMIC to go along with it; so some database dependencies might have outdated versions.

yt-dlp has sponsorblock features, youtube-dl does not.

For elderly people, an interface with options to have big icons and accessibility options would be very helpful; and accessing a program should take no longer than 4 clicks via mouse, or 6 keyboard keys.

GNOME interface succeeds well in that, as you can click Super key and be able to search between all the existing apps. Or the top left Applications menu could be used to browse through all programs.

For beginners in tech; GUIs for installing programs would be a big help. New people might see writing console commands for installing programs complicated, compared to other OS’s show their app stores in a visible location. Also do not make users search for graphics drivers.

Steam pretty much has a translation layer that turns Windows programs run on Linux. Both operating systems execute code in a different manner, so it’s up to the translation layer to turn one into another. Sometimes, a game can call code that the translation layer cannot translate. A well known one of those is kernel-level calls made by some anticheat software.

Wallpaper Engine. Advantages Linux provides mostly are better than Windows, but man I miss clicking a few times and having an animated wallpaper working.

EU backed distro is seriously missing from the marketshare considering even Turkey has its own Linux distro. I mean EU with all the pressure it gives to tech firms to behave fair, it’s strange they don’t fund a custom distro as an alternative to the Microsoft’s monopoly on the PC OS market.

The true solution to this is that CoC board needs to be abolished, and just get things working. Why’s that so difficult?

Yep. It’s still in alpha stage, but I really like what I saw from it right now.

Pop. I just need ubuntu without snap, distro’s default look doesnt matter since I’ll just use sway/i3wm.

Though the fact that they’re building their own tiling DE could make me stick with it fully when it comes out.
