I have no use for this. Yet. I’m very happy it exists and I’m playing with it now.

Confirm. Never seen something chatter on the network so much as well (remote control setting on maybe?). I don’t know the model but i threw it on a physically separate wlan with no Internet and a pihole and holy jebus it’s almost as bad as the Google nest hubs.
After trying Watchstate and Ryot it depends on what you want. Do you just want an easy easy to backup/sync playstate between platforms? Watchstate. Do you need more? Not Watchstate.
If vobsub is image based (pretty sure it is) then it needs an OCR converter. Most streaming setups will burn the image based subs in. Honestly for 1080p and lower a modern cpu/gpu won’t miss a beat.
Iirc vobsub is not text so while you can add it to the container it will always require a transcode on plex/jelly/etc to burn in.
I think the home assistant crowd prefers locally hosted but i guess i could be wrong.
I havent done much with it other than get all our paper recipes into it and added some via import. I am looking forward to it as its my next project now that photos are done.
Done and done. I just took a screenshot, ctrl+v’d it right in the same browser tab and then went to my phone and hit reply on this post and attached the image. Its the best desktop -> mobile experience Ive used in a long time. It just works once you get it going. I pass through the igpu of a proxmox host into the VM and aside from some earlier compatibility issues (I think its mostly on my end, GVT-v, i915 and a bungled original grub config) the ML has been crash free for almost a year. Ive had 0 uptime issues (now that i only pull monthly) and I was smart with my initial compose script and everything is external. mountpoints are external, all the storage is over 10g to a truenas box.
It’s very accessible with a reverse proxy. Just please be secure if you choose to do so. It’s been a wonderful piece of software and i will be paying for the lifetime server license this weekend.
The back button
I would just not use anything but double conversion. Buy a refurb with new batteries and a solid warranty and don’t worry about it again.
I’ve got about 25tb of Anna’s seeded, plus ArchiveTeam warrior running. I don’t look at my usage lol
That 3090 is living a stress free life
I second this. Once i was confident enough to start virtualizing (I’m old so this was a while ago) I took a chance and it’s been so good. I use probably a 1/10th of what it has to offer but that just means there’s tons of head room for you.
I would recommend a small form factor (i use dell optiplexes, some offer more options for sure though) and stuff it with a bunch of memory. For the cost i would max it out. A Dell 7060 micro i5-8500 with 64gb has allowed me to be able to not worry about resources at all.
Good documentation.
Afraid has a curl update. Cron job. It’s that simple.
So I’m still using my original setup and have NOT learned the new flow system so i cannot help with that. My suggestion is to set up a test library and don’t delete the source material. Watch some tutorials and work on single tracks. Get the video how you like it first then work on audio.
My tv shows are one library and my movies are another.
I bought mine through refurbups or whatever the site is. APC rack mount. New batteries. It’s been rock solid since. apcupsd running on my proxmox backup server. Everyone gets it’s info from that.
I’ve never seen this recommended before and I’ve looked for years for self hosted alternatives to YNAB.
You remember R9 screeners? I bet that person does.
