I was joking. I didn’t think “transferring music to phone” is any problem at all, because I simply had a folder set up to sync. But it seemed like you needed Spotify to be super convenient and no alternative to be possible, so I just joked and didn’t say anything about my real setup.

I didn’t need anything. I merely meant that before Spotify you had to do things like that. If you forgot then you didn’t have your new music.

Before Spotify you had to download or rip your music to your computer and transfer it to your phone.
If you forgot/didn’t have time to do that, you were left without your new music.
With Spotify that disappeared. It was a major convenience to suddenly not having to bother getting new music in the first place and not having to synchronize folders in the second.
You never used Spotify. That’s cool and it’s great that you had a working solution going for you!
It’s that much of a burden to transfer like 10-15GB of musics? Even the most lossless file type(the name escaped my mind) do you need more than 30gb? Honestly question I have like 1000 songs and I don’t need more than that.
How did you solve music on your phone without having to connect it to your computer and transfering it? :o

No, sync can be automatic. There’s no way to forget.

No, but I’m talking about convenience :) Spotify solved having to transfer new music between devices nicely.
Yeah. It’s a different story for people who ‘consume’ music like they consume other digital media.
Those folks always need something new shoved in their face, and streaming services are their go-to.

I got around 400gB and almost none of it is lossless… I stream it using Nextcloud music.
