The past 2 years I’ve only been using Arch with KDE plasma. It was the one that clicked with me and got me to stay using Linux. Before I ran pop! Os for a little while and didn’t really like it or gnome then I went back to windows.

You boot into your installation media and type archinstall then pick the options you want. You can do it the manual way but Arch install works great.
Just used Arch install. Later on when I launched discover it said it couldn’t be used without flatpak. So I installed flatpak and that was it.

That’s what I’m trying to do. All I want to do is try out kmail which I’m assuming is a flatpak because that’s the only option I see to install it. But non of the apps.kde.org software pulls up in discover.
I am on Arch but I have already installed flatpak with pacman. Everything else works on Discover. The only thing that doesn’t is specifically all of the KDE software.
I choose what I want when I install. I use Arch btw
Been using KDE for 2 years and love it. Only weird issue is my old desktop i am running Arch with KDE headless to stream to the steam link in the kids room and plasma shell crashes a bunch. Still haven’t figured out why.
My daughter plays slime rancher off my desktop running Arch streaming to the steam link in her room.
On top of that. I just got a new laptop and bit locker was setup by default. Had to go into Windows and disable bit locker before disabling secure boot. I didn’t do that, RE enabled secure boot, then had to get the recovery key for bit locker.
I do construction work and travel every week. I’ve had this problem pop up in the last month when I connect to the hotel wifi. I just open Firefox and type in the default gateway IP and then it takes me to the login page. For whatever reason it stopped opening the page for me.
I’ve been using Arch for a year and nothing has broken. Did have to “fix” a lot of stuff after install because it was my first time using Arch and didn’t realize all the other stuff I had to install… Mainly to get my Nvidia GPU to work. But a few hours later and it’s been rock solid since.
I bought the Asus Tuf A16 AMD Advantage laptop. I installed Arch on it and it’s been great. Got it for $600 on eBay. Put 32gb of RAM in it and a 2tb nvme drive into the second slot. Left the 512gb drive it came with.
